The Irish Vendeen Sheep Society would like to invite you to visit our stand in the Sheep tunnel at this years National Ploughing Championships in Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly on September 19th, 20th & 21st.
Our stand will be similar in size to last years and will feature multi prize winner Quitrent Odo a ram bred from French AI and owned by Ciaran Coughlan Noggus Flock. Also on display will be the Tullamore champion ewe lamb.
Lambplus Flocks 2017 has seen an increase in the number of Lambplus recording Flocks. Vendeen participation in the scheme remains strong which is hugely positive for both breed and farmers using the breed , while also demonstrating their commitment to improving genetics.
Irish Vendeen Sheep Society launch new website:
At this year’s national ploughing championships the Irish Vendeen Sheep society will also be launching their new look website. The aim of the new website is to promote the qualities the Vendeen breed has to offer to both commercial lamb producers and pedigree sheep breeders.
Users of the new website will find it much easier to source potential breeding stock rams or ewes from pedigree breeders listed on the new website. A full list of all members and their contact details will be available online. All the sales dates and locations will be listed and sales catalogues for forthcoming sales will also be published online in advance of sales. On our page users can clik into the Sheep Ireland (LambPlus) link to search for star rated Vendeen Sheep available from Vendeen breeders who are members of Sheep Ireland.
The society promise to keep users updated with reports and photos from all the regional sales and from around the country for the rest of 2017 and beyond.
